GNBEDF Activities ReportAt the February 12th GNBEDF Annual Meeting, attendees received the annual activities report at each place setting. The three-page report contains information about the number of leads generated last year from various marketing initiatives undertaken by staff, updates on various initiatives in the area, new primary employers recruited, and more.

Job creation is always a highlight and 2018 was a banner year. Taskus, Seasons Group, and Calendars Corp. all announced 2018 that they would be moving operations to the City. Altogether these three firms will add over 700 primary jobs and $20 million in initial capital investment.

The Loop 337 widening project got underway last October, the annual Economic Benchmarks Report was published for the 16th consecutive year, the city purchased over 150 acres of land for a new sports Park, New Braunfels and Comal County ranked second in the nation in population percentage growth, both Comal and Guadalupe Counties ranked in the top five nationally for millennial and Gen X percentage growth, the City Comprehensive Plan was adopted, and the Central Texas Technology Center netted a $130,000 grant the Texas workforce commission for job training programs.

Over 20 prospecting missions were held, two successful job fairs, and the inaugural “Pitch Tab” for entrepreneurs was held.
