Next month, one of the long serving figures of the New Braunfels community will step down from one of his many roles.

Rusty Brockman has been the vice president of economic development at the chamber of commerce for 16 and a half years, and though he’ll step down in March from his position on the chamber staff, Brockman still plans on being a key figure in the community.

Originally from Baytown, Brockman moved to New Braunfels in 1986 with his wife, M’Liss. A University of Houston alumnus and a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University with a masters in education and administration certification, Brockman worked in education of 28 years as a teacher and coach among other roles.
