Alamo Colleges - CTTC is a Regional Campus of the Alamo Colleges providing both credit and non-credit courses for tomorrow’s workforce. CTTC’s student populace has expanded rapidly since 2010 to a campus that delivers coursework to over 1,000 students per semester. The rapid growth of the CTTC student populace has necessitated the expansion of the current campus facility. Facility expansion of more than 25,000 sq. ft. will open for students in the Fall 2016 semester. The expanded facility will include new biology and chemistry labs, a virtual library, and more student centered space to accommodate the increased student population. The expansion will also accommodate the number of courses offered in areas such as credit and continuing education to fit into many of the diverse schedules that many students encounter today. The CTTC provides opportunities for creative development, service for the public good and exemplary teaching – with most of the faculty members residing in the local area. The CTTC is dedicated to community workforce development and is a prime ingredient in the acceleration, creation and expansion of high-skill, high-wage jobs in the regional area.
Alamo Colleges - CTTC is also home to the Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Academy (ATMA) and Information Technology and Security Academy (ITSA) with course programming available to high school juniors and seniors at the CTTC. The courses are a coordinated associated degree program through Alamo Colleges – St. Philip’s College (ATMA) and Alamo Colleges – San Antonio College (ITSA) and provides these high school students with workforce skills development and certifications within the programs.
The Alamo Colleges - Central Texas Technology Center works closely with local and state government to provide course programming which promotes economic development for both business and industry. Customized training can be tailored to offer upward job mobility and development of basic workplace and advanced technical job skills. Corporate customized training is also accomplished at the CTTC, or maybe also accomplished within the company site. Partnerships with business and industry enhance the quality of instruction by providing potential employees with real world experience and exposure to state of the art equipment. The Central Texas Technology Center establishes a pipeline of entry level trainings based on demand and emerging occupations, utilizing academies, dual credit/tech prep models and marketable skill certificates.
